More Than a Trip. A Test of Character.
A Called Higher adventure doesn’t begin when the boats leave the dock.
It begins months earlier—with preparation, discipline, training, and a willingness to do hard things well. For nine months, young adults learn to lead, communicate, persevere, and depend on one another. They prepare not just for the ocean, but for everything the ocean will ask of them.
Then comes the adventure.
Whether sailing high-performance NACRA catamarans or setting out aboard a 35-ft sailboat, our teams leave the familiar behind and enter an environment where grit matters, teamwork matters, and faith becomes more than something talked about — it is put into practice. There will be long days, changing conditions, unexpected challenges, and moments that demand more than they thought they had. In those moments, they learn to trust God, serve one another, persevere through difficulty, and discover that they are capable of more than they imagined.
And that’s the point. The destination is only part of the journey. The greater goal is to return home stronger—more confident, more capable, more grounded in their faith in Jesus, and better prepared to lead, serve, and live out what they believe.
NACRA ADVENTURES
High Performance. High Challenge. Higher Purpose.
The Nacra Adventure puts teens aboard high-performance catamarans for an expedition that demands preparation, teamwork, courage, and perseverance.
The journey began in 2025, when teens sailed from West Palm Beach to the Bahamas after months of training and preparation. In 2026, the team took on an even greater challenge, sailing from North Carolina’s Outer Banks to New York City and arriving near July 4th as the nation celebrated its 250th year.
Now, the next generation is preparing for summer 2027, when they will take on an expedition to the Florida Keys.
Every Nacra adventure is different, but the purpose remains the same: to challenge young people to trust God, embrace difficulty, lead well, and discover the strength that comes from refusing to quit.

The sailboat adventure offers a different kind of challenge.
After months of preparation, students step aboard a cruising sailboat and head beyond the familiar—learning to navigate, work together, solve problems, serve one another, and adapt when conditions change.
The current team is preparing for its great expedition: a journey from Florida toward the Bahamas, where the challenges of the open water will become an opportunity to grow in faith, character, and leadership.
These adventures aren't designed to be easy. They're designed to be worth it.
Because sometimes the greatest growth happens when you're tired, the conditions aren't perfect, and the answer isn't obvious. These are the moments when faith becomes real — learning to trust Jesus and moving forward together.

For nine months, our young students train, prepare, and learn what it takes to operate as a team on the open water. They put in the work—building skills, developing leadership, preparing for the challenges ahead, and strengthening their faith.
Then they go.
The result is more than a trip. It’s an opportunity to put preparation into practice: to navigate unfamiliar waters, work through difficult conditions, serve others, and keep moving forward when things don’t go according to plan.
We are adventurers of faith. We believe young people are capable of more—and that challenge is one of the best ways to find out.
Called Higher Adventures exists to equip youth and young adults to grow in faith, character, and leadership through Christ-centered sailing adventures. We believe real growth happens when young people are challenged, supported, and surrounded by truth.
These expeditions take significant time, training, equipment, travel, and support to make possible. As a nonprofit ministry, Called Higher relies on the generosity of donors and supporters to make these opportunities possible for our students.
