A Called Higher adventure doesn’t begin when the boats leave the dock.
It begins months earlier—with preparation, discipline, training, and a willingness to do hard things well. For nine months, young adults learn to lead, communicate, persevere, and depend on one another. They prepare not just for the ocean, but for everything the ocean will ask of them.
Then comes the adventure.
Whether sailing high-performance NACRA catamarans or setting out aboard a cruising sailboat, our teams leave the familiar behind and enter an environment where grit matters, teamwork matters, and faith is put into practice. There will be long days, changing conditions, unexpected challenges, and moments that demand more than they thought they had.
And that’s the point. The destination is only part of the journey. The greater goal is to return home stronger - more confident, more capable, more grounded in faith, and better prepared to lead.
NACRA ADVENTURES

The Nacra Adventure puts young leaders aboard high-performance catamarans for an expedition that demands preparation, teamwork, courage, and perseverance.
The journey began in 2025, when teens sailed from Florida to the Bahamas after months of training and preparation. In 2026, the team took on an even greater challenge, sailing from North Carolina’s Outer Banks to New York City and arriving near July 4th as the nation celebrated its 250th year.
Now, the next generation is preparing for summer 2027, when they will take on an expedition through the Florida Keys.
Every Nacra adventure is different, but the purpose remains the same: to challenge young people to embrace difficulty, trust God, lead well, and discover the strength that comes from refusing to quit.

The sailboat adventure offers a different kind of challenge.
After months of preparation, young leaders step aboard a cruising sailboat and head beyond the familiar—learning to navigate, work together, solve problems, serve one another, and adapt when conditions change.
The current team is preparing for its great expedition: a journey from Florida toward the Bahamas, where the challenges of the open water will become an opportunity to grow in faith, character, and leadership.
These adventures aren't designed to be easy. They're designed to be worth it.
Because sometimes the greatest growth happens when you're tired, the conditions aren't perfect, the answer isn't obvious, and the only way forward is together.
